How to become a cabin crew or a flight attendant in the Philippines

I have been recieving a lot of messages asking "How to apply/How to become a Cabin Crew"

I'm not yet a cabin crew I'm just an aspirant like most of us here. Let me share with you my experience when I'm applying to most of the Airlines here in the Philippines.

But first to apply for a Cabin Crew job you may search a cabin crew or a flight attendant position through JobStreet.com Philippines or through WorkAbroad.ph or Indeed website and also there's a new website for Airasia where you can apply that I have already shared with my previous posts.

And also make sure when you make a research online keep checking if the posts online are updated. A lot of old post online are not updated and it is still posted online. Check the dates if it is 2 to 3 years ago that is not updated.

I will be sharing now what is based from my previous application experience.

This are the Airlines I applied for:

🛫Qatar Airways in Manila Hotel and Novotel

🛫Saudia/Saudi Arabian Airlines in IPAMS

🛫Philippine Airlines from 2011 until 2016 because they stopped hiring already and the PAL Express took over the hiring for direct main PAL however PALEX still for pooling now.

(They have age limit BEFORE until 27 but it was now removed since our President Rodrigo R. Duterte has already signed the contract of:
"Anti-Age Discrimination here in the Philippines)

🛫Air Philippines Express/Philippine Airlines Express from 2010 - March 2018 (NO AGE LIMIT)

🛫Zest Air/AirAsia Philippines from 2010 to 2017 and August 2018 for Airasia Berhad

🛫Cebu Pacific from 2010 then I stopped applying until 2014 because there was an age limit before until 25 then I re-applied last year since there is NO AGE LIMIT anymore.

🛫Oman Airlines since 2015 to 2018

🛫Saudigulf and Emirates CSA

🛫Other Airlines I also applied for: Nesma, Flynas, Astroair, Saudi Aramco, Airswift, Skyjet, Pan Pacific and Royalair.

⭐ Lets start first with Qatar Airways
I have applied in Qatar Airways I couldn't remember how many times already and this are the basic requirements during the first day.
(They only hire FEMALE applicants here in the Philippines but MALE applicants can apply abroad).

For Open Days you may walk in or apply first online but based from my previous experiences if its an Open Day its okay to just walk in and apply but if its a shortlist event always make sure to apply first online and wait for days or weeks until you will recieve an email for invitation to Qatar Airways.

You don't need to print out what you have recieved online you just have to write down your application ID through your resume/CV and bring only your passport size ID and your CV/resume (mandatory: passport photocopy)

During the open day or shortlist event you must pass first the arm reach test in order to go through the next step which is the interview.

I only got once to the interview mostly I struggle with the arm reach test since I wasn't able to reach 212cm I went home.

Arm reach must be ONE arm only left and right and 3 fingers are required to reach the masking tape to pass the reach test.

During the interview stage the interviewers/recruiters won't just base with your answers.

They will observe how you walk gracefully with poise and with a smile and how you deliver your answer.

They will imagine if you look good in the uniform of Qatar and even if the questions are common and easy still they will check if your makeup is good, if your hair is neat and clean look, if you have clear skin without pimple marks and the way you dress yourself they will be very observant to that.

We may not know the reasons why there are only few applicants who got lucky by recieving a text message while many of us don't. Maybe that's the reason why because interviewers are very observant in everything. It would be the same with other airlines too.

⭐For Oman Airlines based from my experience they are very very strict with the BMI which is the height and the weight requirements. Also they only accept SINGLE FEMALES ONLY.

If you lack just 1 centimeter the interviewer won't consider it.

She will also check if you have clear skin and if you look good on how you dress yourself.

She will ask how well do you know Oman air and how many fleets to make you more prepared if you get to be chosen to go back for Final interview.

You may check workabroad.ph or jobstreet.com or indeed.com if they are still hiring in STB-DJL.

You must bring your complete requirements and everything must be printed in A4 size.

⭐Direct Main Philippine Airlines in PNB Pasay based on my experience I usually do the walk in before to pass my resume and wait for a text to be invited for an interview in main PAL.

When I got a text message I went in PAL and we were like 25 or 30 inside the room.

We were given an application form to filled out and each and everyone of us will stand infront and introduce ourselves for 3 minutes only and walk to the panel interviewers to check your arms and turn left to right.

Once all of the applicants are done by tell something about ourselves if your name was called you will get a paper written thank you for applying but if your name wasn't called it means you passed the interview and you will proceed to the next step.

⭐Air Philippines Express/Philippine Airlines Express based from my experiences there will be approximately 200 applicants attending every Tuesdays when they were hiring last year.

All of us will register in a computer for our attendance and filled out also an application form given to us. Everyone will have a number and wait for our batch to be called.

Once our batch will be next we were told to remove our blazers and accessories before going inside the room.

10 of us are standing infront of the panel interviewers and each and everyone will tell our names, age and describe ourselves in one word and explain.

Once everyone are done we will all turn left and right then show our arms to them if we have visible scars or tattoos.

Then after that we will all wait outside and wait if we pass or not.

⭐Cebu Pacific Air when I applied last year it was the same process 8 years ago.

5 of you will be called in a room to stand behind the height chart and state your
🌸Name, Age
🌸And will ask if this is your first time in Cebu Pacific
🌸And will ask where did you find out Cebu Pacific if its through online or walk in
🌸Then you will turn Left and Right and show your arms
🌸After that you will find out if you pass or fail.
(MALE AND FEMALE CAN APPLY EVERY MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS FROM 9AM TO 11AM IN DOMESTIC TERMINAL 4 PASAY CITY)

⭐Airasia Philippines/Berhad you need to apply as early as 6:00am because thousands of applicants are already falling in line for Male and Female.

You also need to bring all your requirements:
Passport size photo and Fullbody picture 4R size skyblue background, TOR/Diploma(in Berhad it is a requirement to have TOEIC), COE, NBI, Passport Photocopy, and CV/Resume.

In Berhad if you didn't bring your original copies they won't consider it depends if the one assisting you is strict or not because some who have incomplete requirements were given a chance.

BRACES ARE NOT ALLOWED FOR CABIN CREW

They are also strict with the height requirements if you lack 1cm or 1 inch in your height you will be going home.

Others only reached catwalk and group activities

⭐Saudia/Saudi Arabian Airlines accepts walk in before but since the IPAMS is currently processing Saudigulf and Emirates CSA the Saudia is currently on hold now.

When I applied in Saudia you need to present all your requirements in the reception then you need to attached them all and you will be recieving a number and a form to fill out.

Once you pass your requirements to the table near the arm reach test you need to wait for your name or number to be called.

The reach test is 212cm you need to reach it with left or right arm then they will measure your height and weight.

During the interview she/he will ask about yourself and why you are applying for cabin crew also how well do you know Saudia Airlines.

Then after that since I wasn't able to reach 212cm they will just keep my application to the active files and wait if there will be any position available for me within 6 months then if there us no update you can re-apply again.

⭐Saudigulf FA and Emirates CSA can be applied both at the same time. And I was very happy when I was able to reached 210cm it was the very first time I passed the reach test.

Same interview process as Saudia Airlines then he/she will check your skin if its clear without pimples or if you have visible tattoos, he/she will ask if you have 20/20 visions and check if you are wearing braces or not because braces are not allowed.

He/she will inform you to wait for a text message if you get to be the lucky one who will be selected for the Final Assesment Day.

Others who got a 2nd/3rd screening it means they still need to improve on something that's why they were asked to come back and do the same process the arm reach and BMI check.

Based from other aspirants who went back for 2nd and 3rd screening they were requested to apply more makeup and remove their braces.

⭐Saudi Aramco I was able to go to an Open Day last year. All Males were invited to go on a Saturday while all Females are invited to go on a Sunday at Goldicon agency.

There is no BMI and arm reach test they just collected all our requirements and we all went to a hotel and watched the presentation about Saudi Aramco. Each tables will be called one by one and during the interview we were just asked about ourselves based from work experience and why we are applying in Saudi Aramco.

We waited for a text if we pass but if there is no text message it means you failed.

11 FILIPINO MALE already became cabin crews while Females are still on hold.

Today's hiring in Saudi Aramco they are currently for pooling now in workabroad.ph and jobstreet.com

By the way I stand 5'2" (159cm) in height
I graduated as Interior Design my course is far from Aviation but there is no course requirement when you apply for flight attendant as long as you are a College grad and other Airlines accept 2 years in College.
