For those who are wondering why the direct main PAL in PNB Pasay is not accepting applications for cabin crew anymore.

Let me just share with you my experience when I’m applying before.

I started to apply at direct main Philippine Airlines way back 2011.

Through research online I was able to find out where to apply and I saw the Philippine Airlines in PNB Macapagal Pasay.

During those times every after 6 months I go back to re-apply again and I was trying rush at that time because there was an age limit until 27 years old.

I felt really pressured with the age limit but luckily it started last year when president Duterte signed the contract of “Anti- age discrimination law” in the Philippines I felt so relieved.

And when I wonder why everytime I pass my resume as walk in at PAL PNB Pasay they are not active in hiring anymore unlike before whenever I walk in and pass my resume I get a text message right away for interview from 2011 to 2016.

6 years I have been applying at Philippine Airlines however last year it was unusual that there is no feedback. 

And a lot of aspirants I asked who also have walked in they also have no feedback after how many weeks or months of waiting.Then I started to apply at PAL express last year and I have spoke to the officials the in-flight manager and in-flight director sir Leonides and sir Joselito.

They both told me the hiring for cabin crew will be handled now by PAL Express. For those who will become a cabin crew at PAL Express will be flying for 2 years at domestic then after 2 years of working at domestic airline, the cabin crews will be transferred to main direct Philippine Airlines to fly international. So that’s why….

PHILIPPINE AIRLINES CABIN CREW HIRING AND APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR 2018

Personal qualities, appearance, and good health and fitness are normally more important than academic qualifications. Whether you took Tourism as your college bachelors degree or something else like Nursing, Business, Marketing, Information Technology is truly acceptable. It’s always an advantage if you have gained experience and exposure on the job.

Most airlines require cabin staff to complete a training course covering such things as safety procedures and customer service upon entry into the organization.

FLIGHT ATTENDANT JOB REQUIREMENTS

Filipino Citizen

Completed at least 4 years in College at any course

Can speak English and Filipino

Female applicants – at least 5’3”

Male applicants – at least 5’6”

Weight must be proportionate to height

With good visual impact and pleasing personality

With clear complexion and a good set of teeth

With perfect vision (20/20) or with contact lenses but not beyond (20/30)

KEY SKILLS YOU NEED TO HAVE AS A CABIN CREW

Communication skills

Exceptional customer service

Confidence in dealing with a range of people

Good co-operation skills as you’ll work with different teams day to day

Compassion and the ability to support your colleagues

Discretion when dealing with VIPs or royalty

Competence in handling difficult situations and the ability to remain calm under pressure and in emergency situations

The gift of being tactful and diplomatic but also assertive where necessary

Commercial awareness and sales skills

Flexibility in working unsocial hours on any day of the year

The capability to work quickly and efficiently, often to tight time constraints

Numeracy skills for handling cash, including foreign currency

The capacity to work in a confined space

The ability to diffuse situations calmly and quickly

FLIGHT ATTENDANT RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a case to case basis depends on if you’re working a short or long-haul flight plus the size of the team you’re working in. However, your duties will include:

Attending a pre-flight briefing, during which air cabin crew are assigned their working positions for the upcoming flight. They are informed of flight details, the schedule, the number of infants on board and if there are passengers with any special requirements e.g. passengers in wheelchairs

Carrying out pre-flight duties, including checking the safety equipment and doing security checks, ensuring the aircraft is clean and tidy and that information in the seat pockets is up to date and all meals, drinks, and stock are on board

Welcoming passengers on board and directing them to their seats

Informing passengers of the aircraft safety procedures and ensuring that all hand luggage is securely stored away

Checking all seat belts and galleys are secure prior to take-off

Making announcements on behalf of the pilot and answering questions during the flight serving meals and refreshments

Selling duty-free goods and advising passengers of any allowance restrictions in force at their destination

Reassuring passengers and ensuring that they follow safety procedures correctly in emergency situations

giving first aid where necessary

ensuring passengers disembark safely at the end of a flight and checking that there is no luggage left in the overhead lockers and no stowaways or suspicious items on board

completing paperwork, including writing a flight report
