First you should know the critiria to become a cabin crew if you fit in to this critiria you must apply for the job, some airlines may vary in this requirement so you must check their website for more information before applying.

⭐Age – The minimum age requirement to apply for a flight attendant job in Philippines is 18 years. However, it is 21 years or above in most countries.

⭐Height – It is 167cm or 170cm for a male candidate and 160cm for a female candidate. However, it may vary as per the airlines

(This height requirement is only applicable for Filipino Applicants in the Philippines through airlines like: #1 Philippine Airlines, #2 PAL Express, #3 Cebu Pacific, and #4 Airasia.)

For international airlines it depends but most of them required arm reach test of 212cm only.

⭐Weight – Today, airlines simply ask that your weight is proportional to your height. You should not be too overweight or underweight.

⭐Vision – Acceptable vision for a flight attendant job, is 20/40 with glasses or contact lenses. You do not need to have 20/20 vision to qualify for the position. An applicant should wear his corrective lenses or glasses while taking the vision test.

⭐Physical Fitness - This job requires high level of fitness as it can be very tedious.

⭐Swimming – applicants will be required to demonstrate their ability of swimming in most international airlines.

⭐Medical Test – Before an airline hires you for the job, you need to undergo pre-employment blood test which is used as part of the medical examination to determine if you are fit for the job.

👉What happens at a medical for cabin crew?
The medical is always a worry for so many new cabin crew, who are concerned about what to expect and what potentially they could fail the medical on. There is very little information out there, so here is a short guide to the airline medical procedures for cabin crew.

🇵🇭 Reminders to all Filipino applicants:
Airlines available in the Philippines like Saudia Airlines (Not yet hiring) for females only at IPAMS and Oman Air (Not yet hiring) for females only at Stb-Djl Human Link Inc. and MEJA International Recruitment Agency this can be part of the medical process bound to Middle East countries.

While Qatar Airways has stopped hiring in the Philippines this year 2019 however they are available in other countries if your planning to apply abroad.

In the UAE, a cabin crew medical consists of:
- Chest X- ray
- Dental check and teeth X-ray
- HIV test
- Blood test – for abnormalities and liver function as well as evidence of drugs/alcohol
- Hepatitis C blood test
- Haemoglobin blood count
- ECG – heart examination and check of rhythm
- Blood pressure test
- Lung function test
- Eye sight and hearing tests
- Urine test ( for diabetes, drugs and alcohol)
- Cervical smear (if applicable)
- Height and weight
- Vaccinations – you will be required to have vaccinations such as polio, tetanus, tuberculosis, meningitis, yellow fever, hepatitis A, hepatitis C etc.
Be aware that you may be asked to take a medical in your home country at you own expense – but also you will have to take the medical again, once you get to the UAE! Please do check with your airline as this process can become very costly.

Finally, try not to worry about your medical as it will only raise your stress levels and contribute to raising your blood pressure! It is an essential part of your application, as you have to be physically fit and be able to lift heavy weights as well as being able to cope with the physical and emotional demands of the job and deal with the tiredness.

Airlines have to assess whether cabin crew are able to deal with these issues. They will also be looking for any evidence of drug or alcohol abuse or even the use of medication for stress and anxiety as these are ‘big no-no’s’ and if found, your application will not continue and you will be denied the job. If you have a pre-existing condition, you must mention it as they will always find out later and once again, your application will be denied.

⭐Background Check – Airlines also perform a background check on you to ensure all the information given by you on your application including your address is true to avoid any issue in future.

🔸 Etihad Airways - If you passed the online application you need to fly in Abu Dhabi at your own expense because there is NO AGENCY that handles Etihad Airways for cabin crew.
🔹 Gulf Air - If you passed the online application you need to fly in Bahrain at your own expense because there is NO AGENCY that handles Gulf Air for cabin crew.
Gulf Air is a different airline from Saudigulf Airlines. Saudigulf was handled by IPAMS before however they are not hiring for Saudigulf now.
🔸 Vietjet - Used to hire Filipinos last year 2018 but if your planning to apply at Vietjet you need to travel to Vietnam to apply.
🔹 Cathay Pacific - You need to be a Hongkong resident and apply at Hongkong for cabin crew position.
🔸 Delta Airlines - You need to be a US citizen or a greencard holder to apply.
🔹 Wataniya Airways - Was handled by Findstaff Agency 2 years ago (2017) but they stopped hiring because OFW's from Kuwait all went home during that time.
